What you will do:

- Independently chair statutory reviews for Looked After children and young people, ensuring their views are respected and they participate in decision-making processes effectively.
- Conduct pre-meetings with children, young people, and professionals when necessary to guarantee comprehensive contributions to the review process.
- Track recommendations from reviews and hold agencies, including social workers, accountable for realizing agreed actions.
- Ensure placements for children adhere to principles of providing care close to home and align with Best Value guidelines.
- Invoke the Dispute Resolution process if recommendations are unfulfilled, including potential referrals to Cafcass in cases of Human Rights concerns.
- Develop detailed, up-to-date care plans that authentically respond to each child’s needs following thorough assessment.
- Identify assessment gaps or service provision issues and address children’s entitlement to advocacy services.
- Serve as a safeguard against stagnation in care planning, ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
- Monitor Doncaster City Council’s corporate parenting performance and pinpoint areas needing enhancement.
- Collaborate on regional network meetings to promote an effective Looked After Children system.
- Support and participate in training for continual service improvement in line with legislative and government changes.
- Assist in compiling statistical data to boost service performance and contribute to annual service reports and future visions.
- Provide meticulous oversight during meetings to advocate for and implement improvements for Looked After children.
