About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 7 Hand Therapist (either a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist by background) to join a dedicated team in Southwark on a part-time, ongoing locum basis. This specialist role offers the chance to work within a well-established service managing a diverse and rewarding caseload, with competitive hourly pay of up to £32.00.
You will provide expert assessment and treatment for patients with a range of hand, wrist, and upper limb conditions, both surgical and non-surgical, while benefiting from the flexibility and autonomy of locum work.
Key Responsibilities

Manage a specialist caseload of patients with traumatic and elective hand, wrist, and upper limb injuries.

Undertake assessment, treatment planning, and implementation, ensuring evidence-based practice.

Provide expert splinting, wound care, and post-surgical rehabilitation.

Remove sutures and manage wounds as required.

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, contributing to high-quality patient care and service development.

Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.

Requirements

Qualified Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist, registered with the HCPC.

Significant experience in hand therapy, including splinting and wound management.

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a patient-centred approach to care.

Previous NHS or equivalent healthcare experience desirable.
