About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 7 Hand Therapist (either a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist by background) to join a dedicated team in Southwark on a part-time, ongoing locum basis. This specialist role offers the chance to work within a well-established service managing a diverse and rewarding caseload, with competitive hourly pay of up to £32.00.

You will provide expert assessment and treatment for patients with a range of hand, wrist, and upper limb conditions, both surgical and non-surgical, while benefiting from the flexibility and autonomy of locum work.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a specialist caseload of patients with traumatic and elective hand, wrist, and upper limb injuries.

• Undertake assessment, treatment planning, and implementation, ensuring evidence-based practice.

• Provide expert splinting, wound care, and post-surgical rehabilitation.

• Remove sutures and manage wounds as required.

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, contributing to high-quality patient care and service development.

• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.

Requirements

• Qualified Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist, registered with the HCPC.

• Significant experience in hand therapy, including splinting and wound management.

• Previous NHS or equivalent healthcare experience desirable.
