Overview

A rewarding locum opportunity is available for a Qualified Social Worker – Adults AMHP (DNA) in Greater Manchester. This role offers flexibility with both part-time and full-time options, allowing you to balance professional commitments with your lifestyle.

You will work with adults in the community, applying your expertise to statutory assessments, multi-agency collaboration, and care coordination, making a real difference in people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Statutory Assessments: Conduct assessments under the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act, ensuring compliance with legislation while upholding patients’ rights.

• Referral Triage: Manage and triage referrals, determining appropriate interventions and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

• Multi-Agency Collaboration: Liaise with GPs, legal services, police, local authorities, and other service providers to ensure comprehensive care planning.

• Admission Coordination: Arrange admissions to hospital under the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, or on a voluntary basis.

• Guardianship & Community Treatment Orders (CTOs): Handle referrals for Guardianship and CTOs and participate in the AMHP duty rota.

• Training & Supervision: Maintain AMHP approval through completion of 18 hours of specialist training per year and regular supervision attendance.
