We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Custody Nurse/Paramedic to join our dynamic team in Lancashire as a Band 6 Healthcare Professional. You’ll start with an attractive annual salary of £42,000, which will rise to £43,260 after the successful completion of a six-month probation period. What you will do:
- Act as a Senior Healthcare Professional, providing critical clinical advice and guidance, while working autonomously and within legal and professional standards.
- Deliver comprehensive healthcare to detainees, conduct forensic examinations, and assess fitness for detention processes.
- Provide leadership support for the Clinical Lead, stepping up as needed and actively participating in the training and development of the team.
- Maintain the oversight of clinical standards and governance, ensuring compliance and quality practices are embedded in everyday operations.
- Collaborate effectively with the Clinical Lead, assisting with client relations and maintaining a high standard of service delivery.
Essential:
- Must be a Registered Nurse (general or mental health) or a qualified Paramedic with a minimum of five years of experience.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge in a range of settings including A&E, ITU, or as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and deliver exceptional service.
Desirable:
- Experience in a custodial setting or previous management experience.
- Training in conducting clinical appraisals or holding a mentorship qualification.
