Social Worker - Learning Disabilities Team, Westminster Ongoing, £32.55 hourly

Westminster City Council is seeking a skilled and compassionate Adults Social Worker or Care Manager to join our Learning Disabilities team on a full-time basis. What you will do:

  • Conduct statutory reviews of care and support packages for adults with learning disabilities.
  • Assess care and support needs in line with the Care Act 2014, taking into account risk levels and individual strengths.
  • Promote less restrictive living arrangements that facilitate independence and community integration.
  • Apply the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated guidance, including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, in all facets of practice.
  • Undertake mental capacity and risk assessments with confidence and competence.
  • Safeguard adults by identifying and responding to concerns in an appropriate manner.
  • Provide expert guidance to individuals and carers to support informed decision-making.
  • Develop and review person-centred support plans that reflect the individual’s goals, preferences, and well-being.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, and providers to ensure that assessed needs are met effectively.
