What you will do:

Lead and manage the Children in Need Team to provide a high-quality, comprehensive, and effective service.

Directly line manage 6 social workers, overseeing all casework within the team, ensuring a supportive environment for staff.

Provide professional leadership and foster collaboration within a multi-agency context as needed.

Serve as a specialist adviser on children in need issues and contribute to developing relevant policy and services.

Translate statutory, community, voluntary, and independent resources in line with legislation, council, and departmental policies to achieve best practices and outcomes.

Offer guidance, support, and direction to maintain and develop appropriate skills and standards.

Conduct appropriate assessments, plan interventions, and create care plans with thorough review and evaluation.

Ensure team adherence to departmental policies and procedures, including child protection, integrating these into everyday work.

Demonstrate an understanding of the challenges faced by disadvantaged families with children and their specific needs.

Regularly monitor service records to ensure compliance, identify patterns or trends, and address any issues promptly.

Possess in-depth knowledge of various services and resources to meet identified needs, including across agencies like Housing, Education, and Health.

Provide leadership and influence in organisational change and development, recognising and addressing service gaps.
