What you will do:

- Provide highly specialist assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based intervention for individuals with complex communication and/or swallowing disorders.
- Manage a defined caseload with a high degree of autonomy, prioritising clinical need.
- Develop and implement individualised therapy plans, monitoring progress and adjusting as appropriate.
- Advise and support families, carers, and other professionals on communication and swallowing strategies.
- Use a range of specialist therapeutic approaches and augmentative communication systems where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with HCPC, RCSLT, and local policies.
- Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and training for junior SLTs, assistants, and students.
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement projects.
- Support the clinical lead in implementing policies, procedures, and service priorities.
- Participate in audit, research, and outcome measurement to inform practice and service delivery.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including medical, nursing, therapy, and educational staff.
- Provide specialist reports for education, health, and social care planning.
- Deliver training sessions to staff, parents, and partner organisations to enhance understanding of communication and swallowing needs.
- Act as a point of contact for complex case discussions.
- Maintain HCPC registration and RCSLT membership.
- Engage in continuing professional development to maintain and extend specialist knowledge.
- Adhere to NHS and organisational safeguarding policies and contribute to safeguarding processes.
- Represent the service at internal and external meetings.
