What you will do:

  • Lead and manage a team of social workers, encouraging a culture of learning, development, and accountability

  • Champion best practices in social work, embedding a strengths-based and outcome-focused approach

  • Provide high-level advice and guidance to staff and partner agencies

  • Oversee timely and effective assessments, care planning, and interventions that prioritise child safety and well-being

  • Manage and allocate caseloads based on team capacity and case complexity

  • Ensure team compliance with statutory and policy standards, driving practice excellence

  • Contribute to the development and use of a robust quality assurance framework

  • Lead or participate in service development projects using project management principles

  • Keep up to date with emerging legislation, policy, and research relevant to adolescent care

What we’re looking for:

  • HCPC-recognised Social Work qualification

  • Demonstrable knowledge of children’s social care legislation, guidance, and best practices

  • Proven experience managing high-risk and complex cases

  • Track record in leading operational performance and quality improvement

  • Understanding of outcomes-based quality assurance processes

  • Financial and budget planning awareness

  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills underpinned by emotional intelligence and resilience
