What you will do:

• Review and evaluate plans for children and young people requiring protection and care.
• Provide effective independent oversight to ensure the best outcomes for children.
• Monitor the local authority's performance in handling children's cases.
• Challenge and address any poor practice to ensure compliance with high standards.
• Chair Child Protection Conferences effectively as part of your role.
• Support the council’s vision and priorities through impactful collaboration.
• Assist the Team Manager in planning and achieving team and service objectives.
• Identify and highlight resource issues and provide solutions to optimise service delivery.
• Contribute to delivering standards that promote equality of opportunity.
