Key Responsibilities:

Triage and Risk Assessment: Review and assess incoming contacts and referrals using sound professional judgement and applying Newham’s Threshold Document

Safeguarding Strategy: Work closely with key partners including Police, Health, Education, and other agencies to determine thresholds, share intelligence, and agree on next steps

Timely Decision-Making: Provide prompt and robust recommendations in line with the London Child Protection Procedures to safeguard children at risk

Information Management: Ensure information sharing follows best practice and GDPR, gaining informed consent wherever possible

Case Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely case notes using Liquidlogic, ensuring transparency and clarity in all decisions

Handover & Escalation: Effectively transition cases to the appropriate assessment teams with clear summaries, risk analysis, and rationale
What We’re Looking For:

Qualified Social Worker: Degree in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England

MASH or Safeguarding Experience: Previous work within a MASH or safeguarding context is highly desirable

Multi-agency Competency: Ability to navigate multi-disciplinary frameworks and communicate confidently with partner agencies

Strong Analytical Thinking: Capable of processing complex information and making swift, evidence-based decisions under pressure

Excellent IT and Recording Skills: Proficient in case recording systems, particularly Liquidlogic, or similar platforms

Commitment to Best Practice: Child-focused, reflective, and committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable young people
