The Role:
As a Family Help Social Worker, your focus will be to provide support to families before issues escalate to a point where more intensive social work intervention is needed. You will be a qualified and registered social worker, with good knowledge of all childcare legislation, statutory guidance and frameworks.
You will be responsible for complex decision making, being able to clearly identify levels of risk, always ensuring the safety and welfare of children and young people, using your professional judgement, critical reflection, and evidence-based tools. You will be innovative and creative in using a wide range of social work interventions to minimise risk and improve outcomes, ensuring that the child or young person’s voice is heard throughout. You should be confident to build and maintain positive relationships, with excellent communication and engagement skills. We are open to discussing flexible working options to suit your needs.
What you will do:
- Support families proactively to prevent escalation of issues.
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams for comprehensive family support.
- Conduct assessments and create care plans focused on the child's welfare.
- Use evidence-based tools to guide practice and inform decision making.
- Maintain accurate and detailed case records.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work.
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Significant frontline experience in Social Services within the UK working as a qualified Social Worker.
