What you will do:
- Implement the responsibilities outlined in the Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation for children in need, focusing on those who need protection or are under local authority care.
- Conduct assessments and provide services to children in need following legislative, regulatory, and departmental guidelines.
- Ensure effective and efficient service delivery while working collaboratively with other divisions, NHS trusts, schools, carers, and voluntary sector providers.
- Maintain high professional practice standards in your caseload and promote these standards within the team.
- Manage a caseload of children and families, adhering to the Borough's child protection guidelines.
- Take responsibility for children looked after by the authority and provide recommendations on financial expenditures related to care plans.
- Engage in continuous training to stay informed about changes in legislation, procedures, and professional developments.
- Promote equality and anti-discriminatory practices in all areas of your work, in alignment with legislation and Council policies.
Requirements:
- Social Work England registered
- Degree/Equivalent within Social Work
- UK qualified experience working as a Social Worker
