What You Will Do:

- Manage an allocated caseload, ensuring careful decision-making even with high complexity or high-risk cases related to Child Protection or Court action.
- Conduct assessments and create plans for care and education, determining the appropriate support within budget limits.
- Collaborate closely with various services to utilise resources efficiently and effectively.
- Employ dynamic social worker techniques tailored to the unique needs of individuals, families, and carers, working both independently and collaboratively.
- Ensure the welfare and protection of children and adults at risk, taking decisive action in urgent situations.
- Engage in a duty rota system, providing immediate crisis response and assessments where necessary.
- Mentor and supervise team colleagues, social work students, and newly-qualified social workers, sharing best practices and supporting career development.
- Prepare court reports, carry out best interest assessments, and manage care and safeguarding meetings alongside management.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

- Degree or equivalent in Social Work.
- Current registration with Social Care Wales.
- Significant frontline experience in UK social services as a qualified Social Worker, adept at handling complex cases.
