What you will do:

- Provide clear leadership and direction to the Child Protection Team, ensuring effective supervision and case oversight
- Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities under the Children Act 1989, 2004 and associated legislation
- Oversee assessments, Section 47 enquiries, Child Protection Plans, and court work, maintaining high professional standards
- Chair complex multi-agency meetings and foster effective inter-agency collaboration
- Drive continuous improvement via reflective supervision and quality assurance
- Manage team resources and workloads while ensuring appropriate delegation and decision-making
- Collaborate with colleagues across Early Help, MASH, Looked After Children and other services
- Promote a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach to social work
- Contribute actively to service planning, audits, inspections, and development of policies
- Support staff wellbeing and professional development initiatives
