What you will do:

  • Administer vaccinations safely and effectively, adhering to national immunisation guidelines while ensuring proper vaccine storage and cold chain management.
  • Assess patients’ medical history for allergies and contraindications, providing clear and informative advice about the benefits and potential side effects of immunisations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vaccination records, meeting all regulatory and organisational standards.
  • Prepare and manage vaccination clinics, ensuring equipment is set up correctly and infection control procedures are followed for a safe clinical environment.
  • Obtain informed consent from patients or guardians, including conducting Gillick Competency assessments where applicable.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support junior staff, and contribute to training and development within the vaccination service.
  • Participate in public health initiatives and community outreach programmes, promoting the importance of immunisation.
  • Report and document any adverse reactions, incidents, or near misses following organisational policies.
  • Continuously update your knowledge in vaccination protocols and best practices through professional development.
