What you will do:

- Work within a dedicated Child Protection Team managing caseloads of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Children in Need plans, and Child in Care (CIC) plans.
- Handle complex cases, including those in care proceedings; initiate Public Law Outline (PLO) and Care Proceedings by preparing witness statements and care plans for court.
- Complete various assessments including parenting capacity assessments, sibling assessments, and the assessments of potential kinship arrangements such as Viability Assessments and Special Guardianship Assessments.
- Provide evidence-based analysis of significant harm to inform court decisions ensuring the child's voice is heard in the process.
- Undertake Child Protection Enquiries under Section 47 of the Children’s Act of 1989 and prepare Child Protection Conference Reports; present cases at Child Protection Conferences.
- Convene and chair Core Group Meetings; conduct Core Assessments within the Child in Need Framework and implement related plans.
- Handle Pre-Birth Assessments under Section 47 of the Children’s Act 1989, and conduct home visits to monitor and promote the welfare of children.
- Liaise closely with partnership agencies to provide comprehensive support for families.
- Complete court reports, including Section 7 and 37 Reports for Private Law Proceedings and Child in Care reports in preparation for Child in Care Conferences.
- Hold "Stability Meetings" to plan for placements at risk of breakdown.
- Engage in direct work with children and families to produce positive outcomes.
