Sanctuary Personnel is currently looking for an experienced and proactive Building Surveyor to join a local authority based in Islington.

This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking team and play a key role in assessing building conditions, diagnosing defects, and specifying effective remedial actions within a social housing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose building defects and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
• Prepare detailed specifications of works using a schedule of rates.
• Manage your own calendar and caseload efficiently, demonstrating a proactive and organised approach.
• Conduct office-based work with access to pool vehicles when needed for site visits.
• Apply a strong understanding of building pathology, particularly in relation to damp, mould, and condensation issues.

Requirements:

• A surveying or construction-related qualification (desirable but not essential).
• Experience in social housing surveying (desirable but not essential).
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills related to property condition and maintenance.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and health & safety practices.
