Social Worker within Safeguarding Team in Middlesbrough, UK, earning £36.61 hourly. Ongoing. Full Time/Part Time arrangements available. What you will do:
- Conduct high-quality assessments under Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act, identifying risks and protective factors while gathering comprehensive insights into family dynamics.
- Develop and put in place effective Child Protection Plans, Children in Need Plans, and Looked After Children Care Plans to promote child welfare and safety.
- Lead multi-agency safeguarding cases as the Lead Professional, coordinating efforts across agencies to ensure cohesive support for children and families.
- Actively participate in child protection case conferences, core groups, legal planning meetings, and court proceedings, providing detailed reports and evidence in line with Public Law Outline (PLO), and give evidence as needed.
- Engage directly with children and families to build trusting relationships, promote positive changes, and mitigate risks.
- Implement Signs of Safety or other strengths-based approaches in your practice, identifying and building upon family strengths.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records using the council’s case management system, such as Liquidlogic.
- Contribute to the team’s duty rota and respond promptly to safeguarding referrals, ensuring swift and effective protective measures are in place.
- Ensure work is in line with statutory responsibilities, departmental policies, and professional codes of conduct, adhering to best practice standards.
