Swindon Borough Council is currently seeking experienced Locum Social Workers to join their Family Safeguarding Team for a full-time role in the heart of Swindon. This is an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in a dynamic working environment, offering a competitive hourly rate of £46.32. You will become a part of a team that works collaboratively within pods, designed to optimise management, oversight, and support, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of social work efforts. Each pod comprises five Social Workers and one Manager, providing a robust support network.

What you will do:

  • Undertake comprehensive assessments, including parenting assessments, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner to inform the development of outcome-focused care plans for children and their families.
  • Handle care proceedings within the court, covering both private and public cases, and work diligently to initiate and complete these within court-imposed timescales.
  • Develop and implement permanency plans for children, including organizing adoption processes when necessary.
  • Assess and respond to complex risks involving children and families, providing thorough analysis and evidence of interventions in your records.
