Role Overview
An exciting opportunity is now available for a skilled and experienced Social Worker to step into the role of Advanced Social Practitioner within the Cotswolds Children and Families Team. Based in the picturesque town of Cheltenham, this position combines frontline social work with leadership and quality assurance responsibilities. You will manage a protected caseload of complex cases while also supporting service improvement and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
This is a hybrid role, offering a balance between remote working and essential in-person engagements.

Key Responsibilities

Carry a protected caseload of complex and high-need children and families.

Undertake direct work with children, families, and carers, ensuring their voices are central to assessments and care plans.

Provide leadership within the team, acting as a mentor and source of professional expertise.

Facilitate quality assurance activities including audits, case reviews, and reflective supervision.

Champion good practice, continuous improvement, and compliance with statutory responsibilities.

Engage in collaborative working with internal teams and multi-agency partners.

Contribute to service development initiatives and model strengths-based, relationship-focused practice.
About You

Social Work England registered Social Worker.

Significant post-qualifying experience in children’s services, particularly in locality/family teams.

Strong assessment, planning, and intervention skills.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a passion for service excellence.

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
