Locum Health Visitor – Children and Young People

Location: Allington Clinic, Ipswich, Suffolk (Hybrid: 2 days remote, 1 day onsite)
Rate: £29.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time (flexible)
Contract Duration: 30th June 2025 – 3rd October 2025

Role Overview

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in Suffolk as a Health Visitor within the Children and Young People’s Service. Key Responsibilities

• Provide health advice and early intervention support to families via telephone, email, and face-to-face contact.

• Triage and respond to clinical queries from parents regarding child development, minor illness, feeding, and maternal mental health.

• Process safeguarding communications, including emails, clinical reports, letters, and notifications.

• Support the Health Business Centre clinical duty team, ensuring smooth delivery of community health services.

• Collaborate with multi-agency partners, including GPs, midwives, perinatal mental health services, and social workers to ensure continuity of care.

About You

• NMC-registered Health Visitor (Specialist Community Public Health Nurse qualification essential).

• Proven experience in delivering child health services and safeguarding within a community setting.

• Strong communication, triage, and assessment skills.

• Comfortable with remote and hybrid working practices.

• Compassionate, organised, and committed to improving child and family wellbeing.
