Social Worker - Duty and Assessment Team, Darwen, £39 Hourly, Ongoing, Full Time
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join the Duty and Assessment Team in Darwen, earning a competitive rate of £39 per hour. This full-time locum role offers the perfect chance to put your skills to the test. Blackburn with Darwen Children’s Services, recently graded 'good' in its full ILACS Ofsted inspection, is seeking a dedicated professional to cover its Duty, Assessment, and Child in Need Service.

What you will do:
- Conduct detailed assessments of children and families to identify needs and formulate effective action plans
- Collaborate with team members and other agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children and families
- Manage and prioritise a diverse caseload with efficiency and professionalism
- Attend court as needed and provide reports for legal proceedings related to child protection matters
- Participate actively in team meetings, contributing insights and strategies to help drive service improvements
To thrive in this role, the candidate will have at least three years of post-qualification experience in Duty and Assessment and/or longer-term Safeguarding, Child Protection, and Court work. A current Social Work England registration is essential, as is being a car driver. Proficiency with Protocol Liquid Logic is advantageous but not a deal-breaker. Highly effective communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a strong penchant for teamwork will set you apart.
