Maintenance Assistant in Southwark

Job Description:
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Consort Recruitment Services. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, not afraid to get stuck in with the day-to-day maintenance tasks. A significant part of the role will be to ensure the smooth running of our facilities by carrying out a range of tasks, including routine maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and health and safety checks.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out routine maintenance tasks
- Conducting regular safety inspections on equipment and facilities
- Responding and resolving emergency maintenance requests
- Assisting with the setup of venues for meetings, events, and functions
- Performing minor repairs, for example, light fittings, fixtures, and plumbing
- Maintaining a record of completed repairs and maintenance works

About You:
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work in awkward spaces
