The role:
We are keen to recruit agency social workers with experience of statutory social work with children and families. Our model of working from referral to permanence or closure allows us to tailor caseloads to your interests. Typically, our agency workers handle a caseload of Child Protection and Child in Need, but allocations of court cases or cared-for children can be discussed to match your professional aspirations.
We are centrally based in the town hall district of Stockport, where all our social work teams are co-located with health, police, Early Help, and MASSH colleagues. Our average caseload is 20, which we regularly review to ensure manageability. We offer a comprehensive induction, a gradual increase in caseload complexity, and high-quality reflective supervision on a monthly basis. Our team leaders are skilled in reflective and systemic supervision, providing an enriching learning environment.
What you will do:
- Provide assessment and intervention for children and families to safeguard and promote their welfare.
- Manage a caseload of Child Protection and Child in Need cases, with opportunities to work on court cases if desired.
- Partner with a range of professionals in a multi-agency context to deliver comprehensive support.
- Engage in reflective supervision to continuously improve practice.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions for personal and professional development.
