JOB-20240819-db742659 Social Worker – Mental Health Team Job Title: Social Worker – Adult’s Mental Health Team Specialism: Adults Social Work – Mental Health Location: Calderdale, West Yorkshire, UK Salary: £30.00 per hour Contract Type: Ongoing Working Pattern: Part Time / Full Time About the Role We are seeking a skilled and motivated Social Worker to join the Adult’s Mental Health Team in Calderdale on an ongoing basis. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of adults experiencing mental health difficulties while benefiting from flexible working arrangements and competitive hourly pay.As part of the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), you will deliver high-quality statutory social work services, promote recovery-focused practice, and work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure person-centred support. Key Responsibilities Statutory Duties & Assessments Undertake assessments and reviews under the Care Act 2014 Develop strength-based, person-centred care and support plans Complete Mental Capacity Act assessments and facilitate Best Interests decisions Lead Section 42 safeguarding enquiries Conduct comprehensive risk assessments relating to mental health, self-neglect, exploitation and vulnerability Develop and implement risk management and contingency plans Mental Health Act & Legal Frameworks Work in accordance with the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended) Support or undertake Mental Health Act assessments where required Liaise with Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) and health colleagues Contribute to Tribunal reports and statutory reviews Multi-Agency & Partnership Working Contribute to discharge planning and community transitions Participate in multi-agency safeguarding meetings Work collaboratively with NHS mental health services, GPs, housing providers and voluntary organisations Engage in MDT meetings and case discussions to ensure coordinated care Professional Practice & Reporting Maintain accurate, analytical and timely case records Prepare high-quality reports for court, safeguarding panels and funding panels Ensure compliance with statutory guidance and local authority policies Promote recovery-focused, strengths-based approaches in all areas of practice Requirements Social Work England registration Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work Experience within Adult Social Care, ideally in a Mental Health setting Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Mental Health Act 1983 Experience managing complex safeguarding and risk cases Excellent assessment, analytical and communication skills Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team Perks and Benefits Competitive hourly rate of £30.00 Flexible part-time or full-time working options Ongoing professional development opportunities Exposure to diverse and rewarding casework Opportunity to expand your professional network within multi-agency settings Why Calderdale?
