What You Will Do:

• Lead and Supervise: Provide effective management, guidance, and supervision to social workers and support staff within the Children in Care Team.

• Promote Quality Practice: Drive the delivery of high-quality care planning and interventions focused on permanency, stability, and positive outcomes.

• Ensure Compliance: Oversee statutory responsibilities including reviews, health assessments, and education plans for children in care.

• Champion Reflective Practice: Foster a culture of learning, development, and continuous improvement across the team.

• Quality Assurance: Review and quality-check assessments, care plans, and reports to ensure best practice standards.

• Advocate for Children: Ensure children’s voices are central to decision-making and care planning.

• Collaborate with Partners: Work closely with health, education, and fostering services to deliver integrated, holistic support.

• Safeguard and Support: Implement safeguarding procedures, manage complex cases, and promote permanency planning.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Essential: Degree or Diploma in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.

• Experience: Significant post-qualification experience in children’s services, with proven leadership and supervisory skills.

• Skills: Strong decision-making, communication, and organisational abilities, with a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children and families.
