What You Will Do:

  • Manage a caseload of children in care, ensuring all statutory duties are met, including regular visits and direct work.

  • Develop outcome-focused Care Plans, Placement Plans, and Pathway Plans to support each child's individual needs.

  • Support children through key transitions such as reunification, placement changes, or preparation for adulthood.

  • Prepare and present detailed reports for Looked After Children (LAC) Reviews, court proceedings, and relevant panels.

  • Work closely with Independent Reviewing Officers (IROs) to prevent drift or delay in permanency planning.

  • Participate in multi-agency meetings, permanency tracking panels, and pathway planning reviews.

  • Maintain accurate, timely case records in line with statutory requirements and Rochdale’s professional standards.

Person Specification:

  • Commitment to trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, child-centred practice.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience within CIC, LAC, permanence, or leaving care services.

  • Familiarity with Signs of Safety or other strengths-based practice models.

  • Experience supporting unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC).

  • Training in therapeutic, attachment-based, or trauma-informed models.
