Purpose of the Role

To provide a high-quality statutory social work service that protects children from harm, abuse, and neglect. You will assess and manage risk while working closely with families and partner agencies to ensure safe and positive outcomes.


What You Will Do

  • Undertake statutory child protection investigations and contribute to relevant meetings, including conferences and core groups.

  • Work directly with children, ensuring their wishes, feelings, and experiences inform assessments and planning.

  • Complete thorough assessments and develop outcome-based plans, regularly reviewing progress to ensure ongoing safety and wellbeing.

  • Manage a professional caseload, maintaining accurate records and producing detailed court reports where required.

  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver coordinated and effective support.

  • Maintain high professional standards and engage in continuous professional development.


Person Specification

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.

  • Registration with Social Work England.

  • Experience in safeguarding and statutory children’s social care.

  • Strong working knowledge of child protection legislation and procedures.

  • Skilled in assessment, risk management, communication, and report writing.

  • Resilient, organised, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
