The Role: Loss Prevention Officer

Location: London and surrounding areas
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum

We are seeking an experienced Loss Prevention professional to join a dynamic retail and concessions environment, supporting multiple locations across the Luton and London area. This role plays a key part in protecting company assets, reducing shrinkage, and improving operational efficiency across the business.

The Role

You will be responsible for driving loss prevention strategies, ensuring compliance with company procedures, and supporting operational teams to minimise risk and maximise profitability. Working closely with store and senior management, you will act as a subject matter expert in both operational controls and security systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and support initiatives to reduce inventory shrinkage, cash loss, and operational risks.
  • Monitor reporting tools, audits, and incident data to identify trends and potential losses.
  • Conduct investigations into stock loss, policy breaches, and internal theft, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Produce detailed reports outlining findings, trends, and recommended actions.
  • Act as the expert on systems including POS, inventory management, cash handling, CCTV, and access control.
  • Ensure all security and loss prevention equipment is maintained and operating effectively.
  • Carry out store audits and compliance checks across multiple sites.
  • Deliver training to retail teams to improve awareness and adherence to best practice.
  • Build strong working relationships with General Managers, Store Managers, and leadership teams.
  • Provide guidance on investigations, procedures, and loss prevention strategies.
  • Partner with HR to support training and policy implementation.
  • Identify process weaknesses and recommend improvements to strengthen controls.

All About You

  • Proven experience in retail loss prevention, ideally within a multi-site environment.
  • Strong investigative skills with experience handling incidents and interviews.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Confident communicator, able to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Good understanding of loss prevention principles, legislation, and best practice.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.
  • Flexible to support a 24/7 retail operation as required.
