Our Client has a requirement for an Information & Document Manager, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Reading - this will be a hybrid position.
Role Purpose:
To lead the information and document management strategy on a major multi-year infrastructure programme. The role will ensure compliance with client requirements, contractual obligations, and legal standards, implementing robust systems for the full data lifecycle and maintaining alignment with programme procedures and governance frameworks.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the overall information and document management strategy, objectives, and processes.
- Establish a standardised framework for document control, data governance, and version management to support risk reduction and compliance.
- Optimise workflows for information capture, storage, retrieval, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
- Introduce improved practices that support automation, efficiency, and consistency across the programme.
- Engage with stakeholders to identify issues, align solutions, and support adoption through effective training and communication.
- Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reporting systems to monitor performance.
- Provide expert guidance on information and document management best practice.
- Lead the implementation of information management processes across all categories and classifications of project information.
- Support project close-out activities, ensuring effective transfer and control of records and documentation.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- 15+ years’ experience in Information Management, Document Control, or Quality Management on large, complex, or highly regulated programmes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive process improvements.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies; Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.
- Proven ability to design and implement information management systems and processes in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent attention to detail, leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering information management improvements on complex projects.
- Understanding of design and delivery requirements within engineering, architecture, or construction environments.
- Awareness of Security Management arrangements is advantageous.
- Degree-qualified or equivalent experience (typically 10–17 years relevant work experience).
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
