You'll Need:

• A Science degree (2:1 or higher) in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field – your subject knowledge is essential
• Passion for education – you genuinely want to help young people succeed
• Clear communication skills – you can explain ideas in ways students understand
• Enthusiasm and resilience – teaching is rewarding but can be challenging
• Commitment to safeguarding – all candidates will undergo enhanced DBS checks

What You'll Actually Be Doing:

• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions for students who need extra support
• Help GCSE students master challenging concepts and exam techniques across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
• Work with learners across all abilities—from those building foundational scientific understanding to high-achievers pursuing top grades
• Assist classroom teachers in delivering engaging Science lessons
• Support practical experiments and demonstrate safe laboratory techniques
• Develop strategies for explaining complex ideas in accessible ways
• Learn classroom management techniques in a supportive environment
• Observe excellent teaching practice firsthand

It Would Be Great If You Have:

• Any tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering experience with young people
• Familiarity with the UK secondary Science curriculum
• Clear ambitions to pursue qualified teacher status
