ECG Technician Locum Position in Shrewsbury / Telford, UK, earning up to £20 per hour hourly on an ongoing contract. What you will do:
• Perform ECGs: Conduct electrocardiograms to closely monitor a patient's heart by accurately using the ECG machine.
• Monitor patients: Stay vigilant during tests, observing heart activity and sometimes tracking blood pressure.
• Prepare patients: Clearly explain the procedure, ensuring comfort and proper connection to the equipment.
• Assist physicians: Provide essential data to doctors, aiding them in making informed treatment decisions.
• Maintain equipment: Keep diagnostic tools in excellent working order to ensure precise results.
• Administrative tasks: Manage patient databases and other crucial administrative responsibilities as required.

Requirements:
A solid general education, including GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Maths, and Science, is required. If you are not already trained, we will provide ECG training and a competency assessment in 12-lead ECG recording. You should have an understanding of infection control, patient safety, and confidentiality procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must to reassure and support patients effectively. Being able to prioritise tasks, work well under pressure, and follow clinical instructions is essential. Basic IT skills are also necessary to manage patient data effectively. You will thrive as part of our multidisciplinary team.
