An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Band 7 Pharmacist – Inpatient and Outpatient Dispensary Team to join a busy and well-established AHP – Pharmacy service in Chelmsford. This ongoing full-time locum role offers an excellent hourly rate of £31 and provides exposure across both inpatient and outpatient dispensary settings.

What You Will Do

• Carry out clinical screening of prescriptions to ensure safe, effective, and appropriate medication use.

• Perform final accuracy checks on dispensed medications, maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

• Provide patient counselling, ensuring patients understand their medications and achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes.

• Participate in ward-based clinical work where appropriate, depending on experience and service need.

• Collaborate closely with pharmacy colleagues to improve workflow, efficiency, and patient care delivery.

• Adhere to governance, policies, and professional standards at all times.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• GPhC registration.

• Proven experience working within hospital pharmacy dispensary services.

• Strong knowledge of medicines management and dispensing processes.

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable

• Previous experience across both inpatient and outpatient dispensaries.

• Ward-based clinical pharmacy experience.
