What you will do:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Children with Disabilities team, ensuring safeguarding and promoting the best interests of children in alignment with statutory requirements.
- Manage a dedicated team of social workers, guiding them to deliver services that are aligned with Government policy, legislative updates, and council procedures.
- Provide leadership during policy changes, fostering seamless transitions in practice and ensuring frontline staff are supported.
- Advise senior managers on strategic directions and policy development, ensuring service delivery adapts to future needs.
- Monitor and report on team performance, meeting targets and implementing necessary action plans when shortfalls arise.
- Optimise resources through effective budget management, securing value for money while adhering to financial regulations.
- Foster strong collaborative relationships with other council departments, external agencies, and the third sector to ensure integrated service delivery.

Requirements of the Team Manager:
You must hold a degree or equivalent in social work and have current Social Work England registration. Essential to this role is recent managerial experience in a similar capacity as a Team Manager, Deputy Team Manager, or Assistant Team Manager. Significant frontline experience within Children’s Services is crucial to ensure you are well-versed in the complexities of the field.
