Opportunity Overview
We are currently representing one of the world’s leading engineering consultancies in their search for a Senior Resident Engineer to oversee the delivery of major road construction projects in the Cork area..
This role is ideal for an experienced site supervision professional who is passionate about quality, safety, and the successful delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects. You'll work closely with contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet the highest standards of compliance and execution.
Key Responsibilities

On-site supervision of road and infrastructure construction projects.

Administering Public Works Contracts, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.

Overseeing construction quality, safety, and environmental management systems.

Monitoring temporary traffic management schemes during works.

Ensuring compliance with relevant design and construction standards (TII, NTA, etc.).

Managing and mentoring junior site staff and engineers.
-
Preparing reports, maintaining detailed project records, and liaising with all project stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed professional with:

A Level 8 or 9 Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Chartered Engineer status (preferred but not essential).

Demonstrable experience supervising road construction projects.

Strong knowledge of Irish Public Works Contracts.

In-depth understanding of health & safety regulations and best practices on site.

Familiarity with TII and NTA specifications and relevant road design/construction standards.

A collaborative attitude with the ability to take responsibility and lead teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
