This role calls for a skilled Lead Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist with over four years of experience working with school-age children in either mainstream or specialised settings. You will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our services, providing both direct clinical services and supporting the leadership of a dedicated team of therapists.

What you will do:
- Lead and coordinate the paediatric Speech and Language Therapy team, working closely with two other SLT Team Leads and under the guidance of the Children’s Therapy Service Manager.
- Provide highly specialised clinical supervision and guidance to less experienced therapists and other involved professionals and carers.
- Manage and supervise therapists and assistants, while also participating in appropriate policy development and service improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate and undertake triage of new referrals efficiently within expected timeframes.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on EHCPs and ensure high standards are maintained.
- Meet and liaise with key stakeholders in the community, attending SEND panels managed by the local authority.
- Support the Children’s Therapies Manager in monitoring team performance, driving service developments, and assisting with recruitment.
- Plan, run, and participate in regular meetings with the school-age team and broader SLT team, fostering effective communication.
To excel in this role, you need to hold HCPC registration and be able to commute independently, as being a car driver is essential for the role.
